I have been fortunate enough to be offered the position of Guest Designer for Pixie Cottege.

The theme for this card is RED.

The background stamp is from Pixie Cottege with the girl in the front is from the Magnolia range.

I really enjoyed putting the card together with the lovely background of roses over the trellis and then the little girl giving a red flower.

I hope you all come back during the month to see the other projects I have done for the month.

Pixie Cottage Challenge # 105

All of a sudden tonight I decided that I would like to enter the Pixie Cottage challenge #105 - Love and Kisses.

So I did this

I just love the reds, and trying to put them all together - and the lovely little hearts at the bottom where so easy with my Pazzles machine

But now its time for bed - as I still have work tomorrow.

New Year - and its only January

What a year we have had so far, it is been so so so busy, as most of you can see just because it is 29 January 2012 and this is my first post of the year.

First my husband and I had a lovely New Years Day at a BBQ with friends, it was just lovely and relaxing to be with friends, just talking and need I say it - drinking!

Of course at home was our daughter, very excited as she was flying off to London in mid January. From the minute she had arrive just before Christmas until the day she left our place looked at though a recurring bomb had hit and was going off every few days. Still she finally got her bags packed - tears flowed and she was off to London.

She has gone for . . . . no idea, she doesn't know how long, but as far as I can tell she is enjoying herself, getting to know the big city and spending some time in a pub overlooking Big Ben - I am so green with envy.

Still it means I have to work extra hard to save to go and visit. - The plan is to go after the Olympics in September - watch this space to see how I go.

On top of our daughter going to England, I started back at work at the beginnng of the month and it has been very very busy, I think I need another holiday.

On top of all this - I was invited to be a Guest Designer for February for The Pixie Cottege. Here is a little sneak peak of what is to come at The Pixie Cottege with their wonderful challenges.I will post new pictures of each Guest Challenge each week starting 1 February.

Blog Hop

This is the first time I have taken part in a Blog Hop and I have really enjoyed myself. I loved seeing all the wonder creations and great inspiration.

Pixi Cottage - Make a Set

What a wonderful challenge - Making a set, so I did. Now I have another Christmas Present ticked off.

I do hope you all like this little gift set I made. It is a box with six little notes and engelopes in it.

Three of the notes have a Magnolia Stamp on them, the others are just flowers and emblishments I cut on my Pazzles.

I enjoyed making this little set and I am sure my Mother-In-Law is going to love it.

Last Two Weeks

I have had a real mixed bag the last two weeks, first we went off to Melbourne with friends to see the Presidents Cup (for those not into Golf - it is a competition between the USA team and the International Team).

I am not into golf and therefore walked the streets of Melbourne, exploring and shopping!
And then I did some more shopping - Oh did I mention I did some shopping!

The other three had a great time watching all the international players, and I had a wonderful time doing something - Oh thats right Shopping.

No I did more than shopping - I did a lot of sight seeing as well.

I was foolish enough to go up on the tallest building and stand out in a glass box on the side of the building 88 floors up.

We were only away for 5 nights, but it seemed so much more, that when we got home we were talking about our next holiday - you know something quiet and relaxing.

Unfortunately when we got home out puppy dog was not well - I say puppy dog but she was 14 years old, but we still think of her as a puppy. The problem is that over the last few months she has got slower and slower especially after going blind. Well this morning, after the second really bad night with her, we decided it was time, so sadly I had to take her to the vet this morning to be put down.

This is our baby: She will be sadly missed.

I haven't been on my blog for over a month, I haven't been near my craft room for so long that I am having withdrawal symptoms.

I was jolted back into the craft room after I got an email from Michelle offering me a place on the design team for Pixie Cottage, but as I didn't pick the email up for three weeks (it was in the junk folder) I missed that opportunity - still better luck next time.

But it make me get back into making cards and especially christmas cards.

Although I have not been on the blog for over a month I have been busy, I have made two birthday cards for my grandchildren, my son, my husband and my mother in law . . . . yes it has been birthday moth.

On top of that I work hard on making some lovely little things for Melbourne Cup.

Over the next week I will slowly put all these picture on the my blog. But in the meantime I have made this lovely card for Pixie Cottage Challenge

TOMIC - #16 - Fall with a sketch I loved doing this card, as it has been the first time I have followed a sketch to the full and also we don't have Fall here in Brisbane to the same degree as people in the colder climates do. Although we have Autumn it is in March/April and sometime we are still swimming! We do have the leaves falling off the trees but not in the same wonderful colours and most of our natives don't drop their leaves, therefore we have green all year around. We do have our green grass turn brown in the summer depending on the tropical storms that come through and through to winter depending on the rain. Our winter is not wet but usually dry and cold (sorry not as cold as some approx 15 degrees C.) Anyway this is my Fall Card where I actually followed the sketch. I will be using this card to give to a colleague at work who is leaving at the end of next week. I am sure she will like it and hopefully it will remind her of the good times she has had working with us all.

60th Wedding Anniversary

My father-in-law has asked me to make a card for his brother and sister-in-law who are about to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary.

I think that 60 years is a real achievement and therefore wanted to do something really special.

I do hope they like the card, I know my father-in-law wil like it and I really love it. I don't usually say that about my own cards, but this one is special.

For those interested, I have a pazzle inspiration machine and I cut the background from a fie I picked u from Monica Bjork. For those who have cutting machine, this site is just wonderful, and I can't wait to try more of her cutting files. Remember if you do take and use files, put them on your blog be good enough to link back to the site and if possible give a small donation. Monica's files are so nice it is worth the effort.

I enjoyed decorating the dress, by just adding a little gitter and then some nice pears for around the neck.

We don't celebrate Halloween as much as people do overseas so when the challenge called for Holiday Goodness I thought why not give it a try.

I normally would not put these colours together but this time I really enjoyed the new challenge and loved trying to put it all together. I will really do more of these cards in the future.

T O M I C - Challenge #15 - Chocolate, Brown and Cream

My love for Chocolate just boosted this card. When I saw the challenge I thought easy. . . . well I was wrong - it was a lot harder than I thought.

But thanks for all the great Inspiration on the T O M I C blog and with the help of the Pazzles Craft Room - Projects I created a rose and worked my card from there.

I do hope you like it and helps others with some inspiration.

Summer, Flowers, recycle

I had great fun with this challenge, and have been able to use it on a number of challenges such as

TOMIC - Recycle
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers
Pixie Cottege - Summer Nights
Magnolia Mania - Summer

It all started with the TOMIC - Recycle I had to think of what I was going to recycle and make it into. Then I remembered a a tree I had made, loved and then given away to a friend. So I decided I would make myself another one, just a lot nicer.

The recycle bits are:

Candle holder (which were used at my son's wedding)
Polysterine ball (wasn't actually recycled, but found in my box of goodies the grandchildren can use for their craft projects at Grannys house)
Artificial Flowers - this one is the good one, I buy flowers from the $2 shop and use the little flowers, these flowers are the larger one, which I seldom use, and would eventually get put into the Grandchidlres box of goodies or thrown away.

Well this is what I made - I love it.

TOMIC - This is the after shot for my recycled products.

Magnolia Stamp Lovers - Flowers - The whole tree is made of beautiful flowers, even the butterflies love sitting on.

Pixie Cottege - Summer Nights - What better than sitting under a tree on a warm summer night!

Magnolia Mania - Summer - Sitting under a tree eating a lovely lollie pop is what all little girls love doing in the summer.

I do hope you have enjoyed my creation - I think it is going to sit on my desk at work to remind me every day why I go to work - so I can enjoy my craft at home!

TOMIC Challenge # 10

This is the first time I have done masking and found it quite fun.

I did my card about travel to Paris - a dream I hope will come true net March.

My daughter is moving to England for six months next January and she has asked me to go to Paris with her in March for her birthday.

The only problem is it is a long way from Brisbane to Paris for a week (maybe two) and a lot of money. I think it it is going to be a dream - - - - but we all need dreams.

--Its been a while since I posted - but yes I am still here and have been creating for family and friends.

I have two projects I wish to show you first and then will talk about the competition for Totally Tilda Challenge.

But First - my Kaisercraft Birdhouse - I just loved doing this and you would be surprised where I got some of the emblishments from. The local Diva Shop where having a sale and I purchased some necklaces which I then used for the Birdhouse.

As you can see I had great fun finding little bits and pieces to put on the Birdhouse including the lovely headband on the roof with the beautiful rose on the side.

But now on to Challenges. I have two - one is actually a Card Swap with the Pazzle Group of belong to where every month we make a card of a certain theme and send it to the next person on the list.

The month is Vintage. So I thought I would incorporate the Vintage look in with the Swirls, purls and Ribbon of the Totally Tilda Challenge this week.

What a busy time I have had - our local scrapbooking shop closed December last year and I am really feeling the strain. I haven't been proper scrapbooking shopping for months, so I decided to go to our local Kaisercraft outlet and went m a d . . . .

I bought myself a bird house and have spent the past few eeks decorating it. Pictures will be coming soon - the only problem is - What Am I Going To Do With It ?

Back to the reason for the blog - Just Magnolia Challenge #113 - Anything goes with optional extra Shabby Chic. I used paper I got from Kaiser Craft outlet and just loved it, so had to use it with this card. I think just enough Shabby Chic included.

The challenge was fun as I had to dive through my stamps to see if I could find one that was not a Magnolia. This is what I came up with. I just love the feeling of Hot Hot Hot summer when we are in the middle of winter. Mind you winter in Brisbane Australia is not that bad we hardly get below 9C at night and have days in the range of 18 - 22 C (don't know what that is in F - but believe me warm!)

Are having a really busy month - not blogging much as you can see - when I did go to put on a New Post my blog had GONE ! ! ! ! Yes that is right Gone - Google had decided I did not use it enough and removed the Blog.

But at least I have it back now just in time to post this weeks challenge.

This one is for Pixie Cottage Challenge #74 - Sketch and/or grab a glass of lemonade. This time I did the sketch. It is really good when a card comes together and this one did really well. It just seemed to flow. I think it has something to do with the lovely Magnolia stamp I used - I just love the way was she is holding the Ladybug

7 Kids College Fund - Beach Theme

I enjoyed this challange as it was about a Beach Theme which reminds me of Summer. As we are going into Winter it was great to think about the summer months ahead of us - just hope it doesn't flood like it did last Summer (Brisbane Floods)

I used lots of Yellow and Orange with just a touch of Blue. I also put little drops of glitter on the blue of the base of the card to represent little drops of water - and I think it worked really well.

Tildas Trio of Tags Challenge #23

Hi All

It has been a little while since I last posted a blog but I have had a busy three weeks as I had to go to New Zealand to help my brother move my parents into a nursing home. I didn't realise how much their ill health was worrying me until I got home and felt as though a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

I am just so happy that they are now being caried for 24/7 and the constant pressure is not on my brother.

Also a BIG BIG Thank you to my daughter for coming to NZ to support me. It was wonderful to have the week together as I miss her so much now that she is in Sydney and I am still in Brisbane.

Now on to the reason why everyone has logged in to see my blog - the latest challenge is for Totally Tilda and is a Trio of Tags.

It was really strange doing Christmas Tags in June but it also reminded me that the spirit of Christmas should be shared all year around and not just one day of the year.

Hope you like this Trio - I really enjoyed making them.

Fun Time - Card Swap - May 2011 - All Things Girlie

I am part of a Card Swap through the - Fun Time In Oz Paz and Gaz website.

I know that is a bit of a mouthful but it is a web site for people who have Pazzle or Gazzle Cutting Machines - little jems.

Alisa came up with the idea and have given us themes for each month. We have to make a card and send it to one of the ladies on the list.

This card - Tilder with her cat and dog is for my daughter.

I am off to New Zealand tomorrow to see my Mum and Dad who are moving into a nursing home and my daughter understands that it will be a difficult time for me so she has arranged to met me in Wellington. This card is to say the big 'Thank You" and I love you.

I have enjoyed making the two cards I have made this week because they are for very special people I love.

The Pixi Cottage #69 Challenge card I made for my mother. I have not seen her for a number of months as she lives in Wellington, New Zealand and I am in Brisbane, Australia. My Mum is 89 and I am going over tomorrow to see her and my father.

My mother has been the inspiration in my life when it comes to most things, but a large part of my life has been my craft and she is the one who encouraged me through my childhood to try new crafts and embrace the learning and experience of new crafts.

The only problem is, may be that I can do a number of crafts but am not truly a master at any, still I enjoy the work I do and I give great joy to others.

This Pixi Cottage card is done following the sketch - I hope you all enjoy it

Challenge - Buttons, Bows and Bling

I had fun with this card, and changed it around a number of times. I got excited when I found the lovely flower in the middle - which is an old brooch I found in a box of things my elderly mother gave me. It is amazing how you can find little treasures in unusual places.

The brooch looks so good on this card and just goes with the bling of the challenge.

I do hope you all like it - I know my mother will have a laugh when she get the card for Mothers Day and realises where I got the middle flower from.

Making this card has been fun - I loved trying to put a little stye (the bride and groom) along with a little fun (the mauve castle in the background)

I made an additional veil for the bride out of lace and added flowers for the bouquet and the botton hole.

No Pattern Paper

Magnolia Down Under #91 - No Pattern Paper

I have had fun with this challenge, makeing a card with no pattern paper. I had to find all sorts of different things to make the patterns. I finally used the string bag the oranges come in and I think it looks better on the card.

And of course the white feathers goes with the orange bag - well maybe not, but they do go with the chickens.

If things could go wrong they did TONIGHT ! ! ! !

But at the end of the night (or should I say early morning) I have created this lovely card.

I just love Tilda looking at the butterfly and with little puppy beside her just finishes it off nicely.

I hope you all like it, sorry my photos are not quite right yet, but I will get professional help from my Photographer daugher when she comes up at Easter.

I have entered this card in the Just Magnolia Challenge # 100 - Anything Goes. I am also hopeing that it might be good enough to get a look in for the Design Team as well.

Did I have fun doing this one, it has tekn me all day to get it just right - I must have pulled it apart heaps of times.

I have tried to get as much white onto the card as I possibly could, then I found the white paper with all the spots on it and to top it off the ribbon and brads with dots.

The card finally came together - just as well as it is almost midnight and I want to go to bed.

I just love the pink flowers - and they were so cheap, I got them at the $2 shop and pulled the flowers apart, this one had lots of little petals.

The flowers go nicely with the butterflies.

This is a special card I made for a dear friend who is about to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I was their flower girl and I just loved this Magnolia stamp with the Bride and Flower Girl.

I have used paper flowers as part of the posies and it has that golden feel to it.

"Anything Goes". But this month we have added the option of adding GLITTER to your creation.

This is a birthday card I have done for my daughters birthday next week - I hope she does not check my blog before her birthday.

Next week I will put on the Birthday Cake I have made her . . . . Off the page scrapbooking

The Cake

Our daughter moved to Sydney from Brisbane two years ago
The first year I joined her in Sydney to celebrate her birthday
The second year I sent her a cake - scrapbooking - Off The Page cake made from cake slice boxes. Each box had little gifts in them - one special gift was the engagement ring of my Grandmother (my daughters great-grandmother) which had been passed down to me and I then passed to her - she just loved it.

This year - I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said

A CAKE

So here it is - sadly no more rings, but still lots of little treasurers . . . . . . .

I just have to make sure that Australia Post gets it to her in one piece - lots of bubble wrap.

These pictures don't really give it justice as the shapes on top were done with my pazzle machine. I will take better photos when I have finished it and put it on my blog next week.

Just Magnolia - Going Dotty

I loved doing this card as it incorported my three great loves in scrapbooking.

First the Magnolia Stamps - I am still learning but slowly getting there.

Second is using my Pazzles machine to cut the backgrounds. I am excited because I have just received my new software for the pazzles and found a wonderful website which allows people with Pazzles (or cutters) to join and share with each other files, ideas and lessons. I can't wait to learn more about the new things the Pazzles can do.

Third is my scrapbooking - putting pages together. I have now turned this around to putting cards together and slowly getting better at it. To begin with my cards were quite plain, but are slowly getting better.

I am so lucky to be able to put all these three together with the challenges from Just Magnolia.

Magnolia Down Under

The Challenge for this week was - Reduce, Refuse, Recyce - and have done that.

I used scraps of cardstock i have in a box - I have to sort the scraps out one day as there is so much good paper ideal for cards.

Then I found some beads, stars etc in a container at the back of a drawer - so I used them on this card and will be using the mixture again shortly.

But the things I like the most are the balloon flowers, I sat for hours trying to work out the best way to use the balloons - I thought of blowing up the water bombs, but didn't have enough huff in me to do it, then I thought of suffing them, but that would have made the flowers to big, so in the end I just put a brad through them and shaped them into flowers - and I think they look really good.

It is amazing what you use when you really think about it.

Just Magnolia

For the past few months I have got really interested in Magnolia Stamps and the magic of colouring the images and created cards, calenders etc.

I have found three blogs which have weekly/monthly challenges. And this week I thought I would put something on my blog for all three.

The problem is I have missed the Just Magnolia blog challenge as I was menat to have the card linked by 27th Jan. Still I am currently thinking of the "Going Dotty" challenge for this week.

Brisbane Flood

We are coming to the end of the first month of 2011 and what a month it has been.

Our family was so so lucky, although we were caught in the middle of one of the biggest floods in Brisbane in 30 years, our house came through with no damage - except for the fridge full of food slowly going off.

Both my husband and myself got home on the Tuesday morning at 11am just before the road was closed. (This picture shows the road out of our suburb cut off by a river of water). We thought to ourselves, well this is ok we can have a day off work tomorrow and maybe another day before the road will be open again, so we sat down and watched the news on TV and watched what was happening in other parts of the state.

The noviety soon wore off when the power went, we actually had to sit and talk to each - well that was a change also. We finaly found a radio and some batteries and was able to listen to the news on the radio, but after three days it did get a bit boring but we were lucky, our house stayed dry when houses just down the road went under the water.

Competitions

I love entering Competitions - and have found another one to enter.

It really makes me think about the pages I put together and is helping me get through Children's Scrapbooking Books I am doing for my grown up babies.

Except - when you go to my Competitions page you will see that most of the pages I have been doing are about the Grandchildren . . . . . . well they are so cute.

Childrens Books

I started Scrapbooking after wondering what I was going to do with all the photos I had of our children over the years.

It soon became bigger than ever, I started looking for photos in the grandparents photo albumns, going through the children's own photo albums and asking all the aunties and uncles for photos.

My job was then to scan all that I had and to put them in some sort of order - this was the hardest part as some were not dated. But - it really brought back all those lovely memories that I had forgotten about.

I love scrapbooking . . . . . . .

Our middle child went back to New Zealand to spend some time with my parents.

On this occasion my dad took our son out on Wellington Harbour in one of the tug boats - he had contacts.

Our son was given the chance of steering the tug boat . . . he couldn't stop talking about it after he got home.

Moving

Our office at work moved over the recent long weekend. While people were busy moving all our boxes, computers, chairs etc from one office building to another I was busy making some scrapbooking things to make my little workspace mine.

I first made this tree - it is made from a little ceramic pot which i painted, filled with plaster of paris and put a skewer in and waited for it to dry. I then had a polystyrene ball which I placed on top of the skewer. The Ribbon was glued around the top of the pot and the little lady bird was a small magnet I found in a local girft shop (they had tiny cars, planes etc)

The tree ball was covered with two size flower punches, the paper is from Kaisercraft - Shaken Not Stirred Collection.

I always put a spider and web on my needlework, so I thought this time I would put one on my scrapbooking project.

The accessories - mask and bird were cut from patterns I have created on my pazzles machine. Watch this space as more about these will be coming soon.

Quiet House Again

Now everyone has gone home, the hubby is at golf and I have the house to myself. Do I Scrapbook or clean up and tidy . . . . . . Scrapbooking the rest can wait.

I love my room, I am currently watching 'Murder She Wrote' on Fox . . . . love the classics

New Blog Template

I knew it was going to be a mistake to get back into Blogging. I have now found this wonderful program - Artisteer 2 - it is a wonderful program that helps you create individual creative backgrounds for your blog. The problem is I have a lot to learn, but don't feel I have done to bad so far.

This is one of my Off-The-Page creations I did for my grandchildren. They love putting their pens, pens, crayons and felt tips in it so they are ready for when they want to create - I will show you one of their creations one day when I get time to scan it in.

My daughter has just messaged to say she has got home safely in Sydney so I can now go to bed. I know, once they grow up you still don't stop worrying about them! ! even at 26 years of age.

Ok - Today is the day that I get back in blogging properly and more frequently. I will add cutting files to my Pazzles page, new layout templates, off the page suggestios and lots lots more......

BUT

.....First - My daughter is up from Sydney for the weekend (I think she is lonely as her boyfriend is overseas - so she came home for a while). Last night I went out and left her at home to cook dinner for her Dad. Would love to be a fly on the wall.

More importantly - where did I go - I went to see Calendar Girls at the Theatre.I enjoyed it so much - and laughed and laughed. If the stage show comes to your area I would highly recommend it but I suggest you go with a group of girlfriends.

Today my daughter and I took my beautiful grand-daughter to the movies and then to lunch. Well not much lunch was eaten as we had eatten soooo much popcorn.

I have attached a Digital Files of a photo I just love. This is of my son holding her new baby girl. He is such a proud father and just adores his little girl. This photo was taken a while ago as now by boy has a little boy of his own also.

Best Friends

This was my first Saturday Sketch and I enjoyed making the lovely page showing off my two lovely grandchildren.
I love working with the Kaiser Papers and look forward to the new ones coming out.
Pazzles is also a very important part of my page layout cutting the circles becomes much easier when using the Pazzles and the alpha is just a breeze.

But the thing I love the most is the arrows, and you will see a lot more arrows in my future pages.

Sharing Ice Cream

I have just heard about Hybrid Scrapbooking and when I finaly found out what it means, I realised that I have been doing it for years.
The most important piece of equipment I use in my Scrapbooking is my Computer, I don't know what I would do without it.
I get ideas from the net, print of digital papers, look for and print off pictures I need relating to a particular page I am doing and more recently find simple clipart to help me create pictures on my Pazzles Imspiration.
This Picture of my lovely grand-daughter sharing an ice cream with her uncle (my eldest son).
In this page I have used clipart to create the ice cream sunday which I cut out on my Pazzles along with the circle and the words.

I haven't entered competitions before, thinking I am not good enough. Only this time I thought I have 30 days to learn and get better . . . . . . . . . . ha ha ha

Day 3 - Create your own paper . . . I did my first creation over last weekend, I even used it on an off-the-page tin and it looks great.

Still Learning - New Toys.

March went - April Flew by and May is almost over - I have been sooo busy - where do I start.
I purchased some more toys for my Pazzles, I can now engrave, emboss and punch holes - but still learning how to do it nicely. Lots of scraps around teh place, now I have to make them into something.
I will show you all what I have done when completed.
But it wont be for a couple of weeks, as I am off to Sydney Town to see my daughter - she flew the nest at the beginning of the year and so this is still a transition period of us both.
Will have photos of Sydney trip next month.

Also I want to share some pazzle creations with you and templates, but now have to work out how to do it. So next time I post hopefully I would have worked it all out and will have something interesting to show you all.
